using your Truth Love Energy to learn how to choose, and to choose how to learn
As requested during our career chat, here's what Michael had to say about the publishing industry, plus a few assorted tidbits for the sake of completeness.

[Sophie] Hi guys. :) I‘ve been thinking about what you told me last time about probabilities in regards to writing a bestseller. ;) Since the topic is not going anywhere for me until I‘ve honestly attempted it, I‘m looking for any information on how to improve the probabilities for writing a bestseller, or at least a decent seller. I have a lot of questions on this. And yes, I know the book still isn‘t finished, but I‘m starting to ask now for reasons of time management.
[Sophie] Question: You said previously that I have agreements with others »for consideration of any work I might publish in a formal format«. I perceive this to mean the following: I have agreements with others to consider reading any novel (non-fiction book?) I might »officially« publish. Is that correct?
[MEntity] We would clarify by stating it as: any completed body of writing on any subject in any format that was available in any form that COULD be shared, published, and/or marketed.
[Sophie] Where are the people I have agreements with (primarily) located, geographically speaking? Are they primarily English or German speakers?
[MEntity] This is international, inter-continental, and includes both German and English speaking, though the text would probably be received more immediately in English..
[Sophie] great info, thanks
[Sophie] Would the people I have agreements with be able to »consider« my books if I used digital publishing as a medium?
[MEntity] Of course.
[Sophie] would it be a significant disadvantage doing electronic publishing instead of traditional?
[MEntity] Digital publishing is where most of our own work has moved, and will continue to evolve.
[Sophie] yeah, I have a feeling it‘s where publishing in general is going..
[Sophie] even if there are still many people trying to prevent it
[MEntity] The use of paper, and the necessity of a large publishing house, are on the verge of outdated.
[Sophie] good for me then :)
[Sophie] Why are those agreements for »considering« and not »for help in the writing process«? The writing process, after all, seems to be what I explore Mastery through.
[MEntity] The Agreements in place are for support after your Mastery, and for help in perpetuating your Mastery, but the Mastery, itself, which includes the process of writing (if you choose for this to be a direction of Mastery,) is something that must be done on your own terms, at your own pace, and willingly. If help is deemed necessary, then it is only a matter of mastering how to ask for it, receive it, find it, etc. It is part of the whole equation that is Mastery.
[Sophie] I have to think about that a little more later. next question..
[Sophie] I believe the three most important factors for writing a decent-seller to be: 1) Quality and content of writing, 2) Exposure/Availability, 3) Marketing. Would you agree with this statement? Please comment?
[MEntity] We would agree, with the addition of »at least a minimal pocket of Agreements,« which you well-exceed.
[Sophie] we‘re going through questions a lot faster than I expected. is there anything relevant to the topic on writing you wish to comment on?
[Sophie] I have more questions, just not prepared for tonight‘s session
[MEntity] We are moving rather rapidly through your questions because you appear to have answered these quite well for yourself, too. There is an enthusiasm in place that is continuing toward inspirational, and if this can be allowed to continue, a comfortable momentum would result that potentially carries this project forward in quite fulfilling ways.
[Sophie] I have a good feeling about this, and that‘s rare for me as a die-hard skeptic
[Sophie] maybe anything on how to improve the quality?
[MEntity] The improvement on quality would come when you have enough work in place to share with those whom you will hear as constructive critics.
[Sophie] I have a few critics waiting, so that should work out
[MEntity] A handful of readers who range among those interested in the subject, those not interested, those who may be more grammatically-inclined, and those who are not.
[MEntity] We will say that we recognize your pursuits and efforts regarding the completion of written work to be daunting, doubtful, unsettling, and bringing up great vulnerabilities, but the fact that you are allowing room for those feelings and states, while nurturing alongside them the trust, confidence, courage, and clarity as you continue to generate enthusiasm is one of the most healing things you have done for yourself in a long time.
[Sophie] I‘d go so far as to say it‘s the single most healing thing. I‘ve allowed myself to shove the money issue aside. :)
[MEntity] Moving energy differently in a life can help to change the patterns of the most tangible of levels of the life.
[MEntity] Good day to each of you.
[MEntity] We will conclude here for now.
