From today's POF.  I thought I'd shared most of my past life info from Michael, but I couldn't find posts to link for all of them. I'll look again or add them.

MARTHA: I’d like to follow up on concurrent/adjacent lives using my most recent past lives as an example. I’ve listed some of the more recent ones I’ve gotten from you. Could you use these lives (or any others that fit in this “time period” that I’ve not heard about), and go through why/how the lives were chosen for the linear track to work through the soul levels, and how the concurrents fit in? Obviously there’s not time to work through 70 Old soul lives, but whatever would make sense in this time period would be interesting.

Auschwitz child; American activist Florence Kelley; French painter inspired by Picasso; Oregon expedition; Germany involved in mediumship; some Antarctic expeditions around this time; German acquaintance of Beethoven;  Spanish woman  interested in card reading, astrology, etc.

MICHAEL: This is difficult to convey, but we will, of course, do our best through this channel, and encourage you to receive this with the knowledge that clarity may be delivered over time, and not in a single response.  For the purposes of clarity, we will point out that while all overlapping lives are, technically, Concurrents, as we work to refine our teaching in this direction, we wish to differentiate between "overlapping lives" and "Concurrents."  For the sake of terminology as it applies to the processes over a Soul Age, Concurrents tend to have more than half of the life in overlap with another.

Concurrents are "more than" an overlapping of incarnations, but are born of what we have described as "adjacent lives," though we will work to refine the terminology at some point. Using the sampling you have provided, we will describe the pattern as such:

The child of 1937 to 1947 is a "linear life." By linear, we simply mean that it is fairly consistent in a flow that a linear count can track, and seems sequential to other lives.

The "activist" of the mid-1800's to early 1900's was a linear life.

The painter from the late 1800's was a Concurrent.

As was the "Oregon" lifetime of the early to mid 1800's.

The Painter was a Concurrent of the Activist, and Oregon was a concurrent of the "medium."

The "antarctica" life was also a concurrent of the "medium."

The "beethoven" life and the "spanish" life were linear.

Though you may find where even the "linear lives" might overlap, the Concurrents should have quite a bit more of a span of time on the Physical Plane with overlapping.  ALL of these lifetimes will contribute to the processes of the Internal Monads for Essence.

To focus on a simplified sample of how Concurrents fit into this, we will quickly speak to the "German" life:

The German life connected directly to the processes and experiences of the "Beethoven" life, in terms of building linearly.

To visualize what we will share next, imagine this:

Infant, Young, and Old life lines are like Longitude Lines on a sphere, while Baby and Mature are Latitude Lines, creating an ever-growing grid on the soul, if you will.  (we will ignore Transcendental and Infinite lines here)

As your Old Soul lines are "drawn," they are now "crossing" or "paralleling" every line that has gone before. Where one of these lines "intersects" another, a Concurrent can come into play.  When that happens, that "line" is "diagonal," and generates a resonance from across a multitude of lines, drawing from several Soul Ages.

Because the "medium" life was crossing a Baby line and moving into new territory that could well be described as pioneering, or another expedition, it generated Concurrents that drew from the Baby lives where pioneering and expedition had been experienced.

The Concurrents played this out in more tangible, obvious ways, but acted as stabalizing and countering forces for the more intangible, internal territories being explored.

All of this, in terms of how it developed ESSENCE, not necessarily in terms of how each Concurrent affected the other. They usually have no effect on each other, except in how their contributions feed into Essence, and then it becomes available for each.

We have gone over our time with you here, but this is a start to a fairly organized and understandable expansion on how incarnations and evolution works, but it will take some "choppy channeling" to get the groundwork laid out.
