Follow-up from Why Me? Overleaves Design Workshop

I got this from today's POF. I thought it would be helpful as it cleared up some things from the workshop on "Why Me? How You Came to be Designed"

Why did my Essence choose my current overleaves?

MEntity: Technically speaking, You chose your Overleaves, not Essence. The "you" that is the collective that has arisen from all lifetimes, Personality, and Essence. This collective You, or in shorthand might be referred to as your Essence, is a part of the equation, but it can only set the process in motion with one ingredient, or one Overleaf, the rest is co-creative from there.
MEntity: In your case, the Goal was chosen, first.
Brian_W: It was my understanding that prior to birth, the overleaves were chosen with the exception of the chief feature. Is this incorrect?
MEntity: Yes, that is correct: but the You that is You exists before birth and is then built upon in the lifetime.
Brian_W: Okay, going back the history then, why was the Goal of Growth chosen? Did something in the last few lifetimes prompt that?
MEntity: We realize this may be difficult to grasp, but imagine that you are creating something, anything.
MEntity: In that True Creativity, the form that it is taking is an extension of You.
MEntity: As your creativity flows, the shape that the creativity is taking gives feedback into how better or differently to shape it.
MEntity: Whether this is an experiment, or a blueprint, the process is similar.
MEntity: It is a relationship.
MEntity: In the case of creating a Personality, this may start out as "random" concoctions, but that exponentially changes into a co-creative process.
MEntity: The Personality is parameters, but not YOU. The Essence and Role are a part of your origin, but are not YOU. "YOU" are all of that. Combined.
MEntity: We clarify this because it is vital that your Overleaves not be seen as imposed upon you, or chosen for you.
MEntity: They were chosen by you.
Brian_W: Oh I wasn't assigning "blame," I was just curious how it worked and why
MEntity: The nature of a new biological system causes one to forget, but that will not change the fact that you chose you.
MEntity: There are a multitude of reasons for why a set of Overleaves are chosen, since there is a long life intended to be lived, and those Overleaves will be used in a multitude of scenarios and from a multitude of points of awareness, but, in short, your Overleaves were chosen to help you become your greatest Teacher.
MEntity: You are your most rambunctious and rebellious student, and your most patient and brilliant teachers.
MEntity: The combination of your Overleaves allows you to back yourself into corners through your insistence and expectations, and then to prompt genius as a means of turning corners in the life. Those turns may come slow, but they come steady, and this is how you choose to Grow.
MEntity: Those pockets of unknowing are those corners.
MEntity: You have not learned to see around corners. Yet.
MEntity: For now, you are still learning and teaching that corners do not equate catastrophe.

Maureen and Brian -- This makes total sense to me. Another analogy might be learning to walk. If a baby waited to walk until it could walk perfectly, it never would. It needs all of those preliminary experiences of learning stand, walking around furniture, falling down, to develop its muscles and sense of balance in order to walk on its own. Everything about our lives is similar -- we need many abortive attempts to master something. And, even then, mastery can change and evolve and never stop, too. Those who refuse to make mistakes stall out and stop growing. Life is about developing all of the "muscles" of each of our bodies: emotional, intellectual, physical, and spiritual. It's a lifelong process that begins at birth and continues until death. To stop at a perceived level of perfection means a lack of growth; although, few actually stop completely. Most just slow down, locked into an unwillingness to deal with change. But even the most stubborn eventually try something new with no guarantees of perfection on the first attempt.

Weird, I can't seem to get the font type right!  I'll just leave it as it is - with no Blockquote Tab.  :)

Brian -- when you wrote the following Feb 22, 2012:

"Like an artist and a child given a paintbrush, the child may attempt to paint a picture of their house or a tree or maybe a stickfigure of their friend with a smiley face. The artist may then use that same brush on their own canvas and also paint the house and tree with a person either in the background or foreground, but their painting will have much more depth and be able to convey a message / evoke an emotion based upon the shading, the balance or imbalance of color in the piece, the definition or diffusion of boundary lines between objects in the painting, etc."

I was greatly reminded of what Michael said to Claire in regards to how she is "progressing" through her 4th IM. Brian -- interestingly, Claire is also in Growth:

"We realize it may seem anti-intuitive to suggest that you can expand on your life by liking it exactly as it is, but it is true.

[ClaireC] I was feeling that way until a year ago.....I don't know why I became so dissatisfied....maybe the 4th Monad progressing?

[MEntity] Imagine a child who shows you a scrawled drawing of a house and a yard and a family and a pet, but you scold her for not having drawn this as perfectly and as elaborately as you expected of her.

The skills that may have developed are immediately tucked away and hidden for fear of never meeting the expectations of the self and others, then.

And so it is with your life: by condemning what you have "drawn" to be only a mere scrawling hum drum existence, causes you to tuck away your creativity and skills that could otherwise blossom.

But by pointing out the beautiful, the potential, and expressing your kindness and gratitude for what is, then the world of what COULD BE opens.

Yes, it is part of the 4th Internal Monad; it is a natural Rite of Passage for any maturing adult and soul.

You are "right where you should be."”

Thanks for sharing Brian. This is another piece in the Michael puzzle, and another expansion of our horizons :-)

So I re-read through this and I do understand their analogy. Anytime I create something, I have to figure out what my available resources are with which to create. At that point, I just have raw materials (the overleaves).

Like an artist and a child given a paintbrush, the child may attempt to paint a picture of their house or a tree or maybe a stickfigure of their friend with a smiley face. The artist may then use that same brush on their own canvas and also paint the house and tree with a person either in the background or foreground, but their painting will have much more depth and be able to convey a message / evoke an emotion based upon the shading, the balance or imbalance of color in the piece, the definition or diffusion of boundary lines between objects in the painting, etc.

I am guessing the older the soul (Essence), the more experience we have to work with and are able to create much more complex Personalities based upon the same raw materials (Overleaves).

Geraldine, here is the snippit in question:

<Brian_W_> Hi Nancy and Michael. Could you describe a lifetime of mine in which there was much progress in the evolution of my Essence?

<NancyG> We would like to take this opportunity to remind all of you that evolution toward agape is the goal of existence, on the physical plane and on all the planes beyond. We also are evolving toward agape and only the final return to the Tao will end the journey.

<NancyG> That being said, some lifetimes make greater progress than do others. The man Brian lived such a one four livetimes ago when he gave up his life in the service of preventing the death of another. This was not a karmic repayment, but rather a philanthropic action based on the unconditional love he had for the fragment in question.

<NancyG> This action took place when a male, unknown to the fragment now known as Brian, was in the way of a runaway horse drawn wagon. The then Brian threw himself against the male, causing him to fall out of the path of the animal but putting the man Brian at risk.

<NancyG> His action resulted in his being trampled to death. We have said this was an expression of unconditional love since there was no expectation of any return for the action.

<NancyG> The putting of oneself at risk for another without wanting something in return always results in progression in love.

<NancyG> End

MEntity: This "up in the air" was important to generate. These pockets of unknowing have been built into this life for the sake of keeping you from falling asleep, which is quite easy for this Personality, in any circumstance. Drawing from your kindness, creativity and inner resources is far more of a priority than any superficial or false sense of security. True Security is never shaken. And that is what you seek.

LOL. Don't you love that the situation you're most frustrated with is frustrating on purpose? Been there. I feel for ya.

I think it's easier to accept the YOU information if one looks at it in the context of other information that we've received about our discarnate ETs and Guides. They seem to have a coherent personality that is more than Essence(s). Plus, they manipulate the Astral to appear as figures (templates) such as angels, etc.

And, Brian, I distinctly remember Michael saying quite specifically that you earned philanthropic karma in that wagon incident. But, they did not say whether or not it had already been paid back during some previous lifetime.

@ Geraldine - yeah, I read it...and my mind is blown from all of the info in the workshop...even before Brian shared his additional inquiry.  I was also very tired the night I read it...I will have to read again...

Also I found this:

It was mentioned to me in a previous session that I currently carry 27 karmic ribbons owed to others, and some 14 karmic ribbons owed to me, with several of them being between myself and my Task Companions. Could you describe how these were obtained, their general nature and their general intensities?

<MEntity> Exploring the nature of Karmic Ribbons is limited by the fact that for a teacher to elaborate upon a Ribbon that has not been activated can actually generate its own Karma between the teacher and the student.
<MEntity> Looking at the details of our students' Karmic Ribbons is much like looking through opaque glass, and we make out what we can, but we can only make out what is actually cleared by your Essence.
<MEntity> Despite the fact that we have access to the Akashic Records, and that the concept of privacy is non-existent beyond the Physical Plane, there are still levels of access to any individual's information that can be limited by the nature of the content, or by the individual Essence.
<MEntity> For instance, we may be able to elaborate upon a past life that has significance to the current Personality, as long as that information is not psychologically-detrimental to that Personality, but if your Essence has determined that the information would harm the Personality, we cannot access that information.
<MEntity> When it comes to Karmic Ribbons, they are often traumatic in origin, and the balancing of those Ribbons is often equally as traumatic.
<MEntity> One can imagine the psychological impact that it may have if we were to share that a student's current mate shares a Ribbon that was generated from Murder in a past life.
<MEntity> With that being understood, we can share what we can access about the Ribbons on record for you that we can see.

<MEntity> It appears to us that of the 27 Ribbons you mention, 9 are Major Ribbons, 18 are Minor; and of the 14 you mention, 6 are Major, and 8 are Minor. The differences between Major and Minor being the difference between degrees of interferrence. Major includes Physical interference, whereas Minor is most-often limited to Emotional, Intellectual, "Spiritual."
<MEntity> Most of the Major Ribbons appear to have origins related to shelter and travel, and most of the Minor appear to be related to issues of miscommunication, dishonesty, and manipulation.
<MEntity> We can say that none of them involve violence.
