KEEPING YOU IN THE LOOP!
TIME CHECK-IN:  2:28pm Eastern

So, just as I am on top of my schedule... Internet Outages! YAY! 6th Level is fun!

Just a quick heads up that I've been having Internet issues over the past week or so, and they continue into today and it is eating up my time (and patience). I have a sporadic connection, which allows me to do something simple, like post this (hopefully), but I can't access my email, documents, or any complex websites with any useful stability, which means, I'm in limbo for now. I've found that several of my emails I thought were sent over the past several days are just sitting in my Drafts because I'm just idling when I do have connectivity.

First, it was confirmed that it was an issue somewhere between my apartment building and a "node" in the neighborhood that connects me to the Internet (and cable). So what did they do? They set up an appointment for technicians to come to my apartment, which led to one day being completely stood up (wasting my entire day), and the next day showing up with a condescending attitude that proclaimed everything was working fine, despite the fact that it was not working fine. I explained to these guys that the issue wasn't in my apartment, but was somewhere outside, and that someone was supposed to be checking that out, so one of them took it upon himself to follow the cable wire to my bedroom window and throw open the window. I didn't know what he was doing, so I decided to stay with the guy in my livingroom. When the guy from the bedroom came back, I asked, "so what was going on through the window?" He said, "Nothing. You told me someone was supposed to look outside, so I looked outside!"

Wow.

It wasn't until after they left that I also found that his begrudging "look outside" left me with my blinds torn down and torn in half, and a ripped screen.

So, next, after they left, I made another frustrated call to follow-up and report their behavior, and tech support confirmed, yet again, that it was an external issue, and so the situation was escalated to a supervisor who was supposed to ensure that this external issue was resolved.

That was days ago, and my connection has been okay, but dropping constantly. Last night there was a full-blown outage in my 'hood.

As of this morning, the outage AND the external repair are supposedly confirmed as returned to good working state, but now there is an issue with my modem, which is probably because of the idiots who were here before. They changed out a connector that didn't need to be changed out, and it turns out that what they did actually slows down and interferes with the signal.

So I sit here in limbo, not able to leave to work from a cafe, because I have to be home for repairmen to come.

I'll update everyone as to when I've fully-returned to the Internet Wonderland! I have my 3G connection via my phone, and tablet, but my phone is obvious too tiny to do work on, and 3G for my tablet is not only too limited to consider using it on a daily basis for connectivity, but the iPad is shit for working on documents (particularly via google docs).

Let's just hope this is fixed today!

And for those who don't know what I am talking about:

MICHAEL: Martha, for your Cadence of Sages, the theme could be described as IMAGINATION, or more specifically as Generating or Creating Imaginary Landscapes, which ultimately come to be meeting grounds for many, either when manifested literally, or retained as imaginary and accessed through others' imagination. Your Cadence is responsible for one of the most-comfortable "lounges" on the Astral Plane for members of your own Entity (and often other Cadre Mates) between lives.

@Troy - when I feel like you do, I imagine my "Astral Lounge" and that I'm up on a big screen while our Astral entity and cadre mates laugh and eat popcorn.  I also do that when I'm having a 'good' moment full of meaning that no one else around would get.  I certainly don't think the whole lounge watches me all the time, I picture it with a number of these viewing areas and that probably the 6th level viewing area gets some pretty good laughs.

@Betty, laughing WITH me, you mean... lol

Yes, of course, my bad       lol

Further to my experience at 6th level old - I have been driving for 30+ years and never had a car accident until three years ago and then I had another last December.  With the accident three years ago, I was making a left turn (with enough time) and a guy coming the other way sped up to hit me on purpose.  He could have not sped up and he could have changed lanes to avoid me, but he hit the back end of my car.  Since I was making the turn he insisted that the cop give me a ticket (which I fought and it was dismissed).  In Ontario someone has two years to sue you personally and at the very last minute he sued me for 1.5 million dollars with all the usual outrageous claims through a shifty law firm.  It looks like an insurance scam.  I told my insurance company not to pay a cent.  It is still to be settled - hopefully it will be over next month with a 'discovery'.  I had $10,000 damage to my car and thankfully both my dog and I were unhurt.

The second accident in December I was sitting at a red light and when the light turned green, the guy behind me stepped on the gas and hit me while I was stopped, causing $1000 damage - this was settled amicably and privately.  The guy was very apologetic and concerned about me.  A very different experience than the other accident.
