TROY's STATUS: Internet Outages
So, just as I am on top of my schedule... Internet Outages! YAY! 6th Level is fun!
Just a quick heads up that I've been having Internet issues over the past week or so, and they continue into today and it is eating up my time (and patience). I have a sporadic connection, which allows me to do something simple, like post this (hopefully), but I can't access my email, documents, or any complex websites with any useful stability, which means, I'm in limbo for now. I've found that several of my emails I thought were sent over the past several days are just sitting in my Drafts because I'm just idling when I do have connectivity.
First, it was confirmed that it was an issue somewhere between my apartment building and a "node" in the neighborhood that connects me to the Internet (and cable). So what did they do? They set up an appointment for technicians to come to my apartment, which led to one day being completely stood up (wasting my entire day), and the next day showing up with a condescending attitude that proclaimed everything was working fine, despite the fact that it was not working fine. I explained to these guys that the issue wasn't in my apartment, but was somewhere outside, and that someone was supposed to be checking that out, so one of them took it upon himself to follow the cable wire to my bedroom window and throw open the window. I didn't know what he was doing, so I decided to stay with the guy in my livingroom. When the guy from the bedroom came back, I asked, "so what was going on through the window?" He said, "Nothing. You told me someone was supposed to look outside, so I looked outside!"
Wow.
It wasn't until after they left that I also found that his begrudging "look outside" left me with my blinds torn down and torn in half, and a ripped screen.
So, next, after they left, I made another frustrated call to follow-up and report their behavior, and tech support confirmed, yet again, that it was an external issue, and so the situation was escalated to a supervisor who was supposed to ensure that this external issue was resolved.
That was days ago, and my connection has been okay, but dropping constantly. Last night there was a full-blown outage in my 'hood.
As of this morning, the outage AND the external repair are supposedly confirmed as returned to good working state, but now there is an issue with my modem, which is probably because of the idiots who were here before. They changed out a connector that didn't need to be changed out, and it turns out that what they did actually slows down and interferes with the signal.
So I sit here in limbo, not able to leave to work from a cafe, because I have to be home for repairmen to come.
I'll update everyone as to when I've fully-returned to the Internet Wonderland! I have my 3G connection via my phone, and tablet, but my phone is obvious too tiny to do work on, and 3G for my tablet is not only too limited to consider using it on a daily basis for connectivity, but the iPad is shit for working on documents (particularly via google docs).
Let's just hope this is fixed today!

I hope everything is fixed soon, and I hope you get reimbursed for your blinds--or is that wishful thinking?

@Betty, LOL, even though I was annoyed, I am also a sucker for any reason to laugh, and I did laugh at this when he said it. As for credits, because there has been a track record of the issues on my line, I did receive a full month's credit for services, which was shocking! I was happy for that.

WOO HOO!
I just had a visit from the nicest, kindest, most-patient, and thorough technician I've ever had come from the cable company! I'm calling customer service to sing his praises. I don't take this kind of service for granted.
He checked everything, and found two issues that were probably contributing to my issues, and replaced my modem, wiring, splitter, etc... He was excellent!
Annnnd VOILA! I'm back!! YAY! [now, back to work!!]

@Nicholas -- I think we tend to explain too many of life events through very narrow filters. If we believed in God, we'd attribute all blessings to him/her. All detrimental experiences to Satan/demons. It's the one thing that I've spent a lot of time on in viewing things such as Soul Age, Overleaves, etc., through as broad of a filter as I can conjure. I don't think every oopsie-daisy experience can be attributed to something like Old Soul 6, karma, self-karma, or agreements. It's an easy cop-out. It's like some of the simplistic thinking that accompanies Astrological horoscopes -- i.e., all of these things can be explained by blah blah blah. Sometimes, shit happens. Sometimes, shit happens to good people.
If we delve deeper into it, we do see choice as an aspect, even if it wasn't a conscious choice. But, as Michael says, there are few genuine accidents. But, even having said that, you can drive yourself nuts trying to find the pivotal choice that allowed an event to happen or not happen. If I'd not gotten up late . . .If I'd not decided to buy an espresso in a long line . . .If I'd . . . and so on. There is an element of pre-ordained to some things that happen -- we ARE on a collision course with certain agreements, or vectors, but we still have choice on whether or not to pursue them, even if only by making a decision to not do something else -- so the meeting doesn't happen.
I personally do not buy into the idea that all the crap that happens to an Old 6 is because they are Old 6. I've seen plenty of crap happen to everyone else, too. I've also seen a lot of good things happen to an Old 6, and to most others. Most of our lives runs far more smoothly than we're willing to acknowledge, in large part because it ruins our story of our "trials and tribulations." We are superstitious about it to the point of "knocking on wood," if we express a positive hopeful outcome, as though the very idea of expecting something good to happen puts a jinx on it. This is part of our imprinting and is quite simply bullshit.
