INVITATION: Transcending Text
Hey everyone!
I've always been a fan of anything that transcends our dependency on text as our only way of connecting with each other. I'm all for the annual gatherings and other events that bring us together.
I've never liked differentiating online life from offline life as one being "real life" while the other isn't "real," because they are both just as real as each other, so I differentiate them by calling one my digital life and the other as my analogue life.
There are probably more people who have grown closer through their online exchanges in the TLE Community than many who have actually met in person via the gatherings. Those gatherings are wonderful, but without the digital exchanges, we would have nothing to weave our days together so that the gatherings could have so much depth. When we can have both the digital and the analog, that's wonderful!
But between those gatherings, we don't have to limit each other down to just words typed on a screen.
I've been playing around with different ways to bring us together beyond text, so I wanted to bring your attention to two options:
TinyChat has been on TLE for years under CHAT, then Audio/Visual Chat, but we rarely use it. I invited a gang of TLE members together to test it out again, and it works beautifully!
You can text chat the usual way, so don't shy away if you don't want to video or voice chat, or maybe your hair is in curlers, but for those who want to connect, there is video chat, or voice chat.
Just log into the room via your Facebook, Twitter, or Tumblr credentials, OR just as a GUEST, and then change your username after you join in. If you are using your webcam, you'll want to make sure you click on the correct video input and microphone input. The steps are easy, but if you have trouble, someone will try to help.
If you want to invite someone on TLE to join you, just see who's in the Quick Chat at the bottom of the site, and invite them to use the AUDIO/VISUAL CHAT link from the CHAT menu at the top of the page, or pop them the link: http://truthloveenergy.com/page/video-chat into the Quick Chat.
It's super easy!
Try it out, and if you guys give enough positive feedback and enthusiasm, we may just add it to the schedule as either special events, or maybe even a monthly Social Chat. You can use the chat anytime!

This is TruthLoveEnergy PLANET, hosted as a private group on Vimeo as video blogging community for those who want to share life, studies, and experiences, channeling, anything, via regular video blog entries.
Once you get used to talking on cam, it is amazing how liberating it is as a way to connect and share!
Try both of these out sometime! It's a great way to overcome Arrogance and Self-dep, and all kinds of things! Plus, it's fun and adds a lot of depth to our sharing.

I can see this ending up with all the Sages yakking away and no one else getting a word in.

@Diane, we are a polite and considerate batch of Sages! Don't stereotype us! That would be like us Sages saying, "I can just see this being a bunch of Kings and Warriors staring blankly at the screen and not knowing what to say." I would never say that! (okay, ::snicker::: Martha and I DID say that. LOL)
But seriously... communication is different from entertaining. This isn't to garner an audience; it's to bring us together in new ways. All you have to do is chime in (e.g. fight the urge to stare blankly at the screen)! It could be a great learning experience, and fun, to boot!!

Plus, you don't have to involve yourself in broadcasting via a camera and/or you can even choose to be mute and just text. Imagine all the fun making behind the scenes ;-)

That might be a stereotype of kings and warriors, but it's accurate in my case! LOL. Actually, my Arrogance is not that bad anymore, but I will still never out-talk a Sage because I don't have a huge need to express.

I clicked the video blogging community and it said it was private so how do I get in.
As for the video chatting that sounds better than the just text for me though since I usually connect at the library I probably would not feel comfortable talking outloud.
I liked the sages to warriors and kings comparison. In that one I would be more in the warriors and kings camp. I find don't really divide it that way, I just see the consensus social contract as what you are supposed to do is fill the void with sound and some people are more facile at that than others.... often unmindrul that they are stuck talking rather than communicating.
@troy when you said beyond text I immediately thought of some sort of conscious etheric channel where we would meet.

@Maxim, we might just have to experiment with that Astral Lounge Martha's Essence has set up! lol
TLE Planet is a private group so that everyone feels comfortable recording videos for only people in the community, but to get involved, all you have to do is create a Vimeo account first, and then go back to that group link... there should be an option for a request to join!
